Results of the SRU-SCNRA U15 Zonal 15 A Side Tournament 2015


1st round kicks off with North v South&East. Great start for the South&East side as they dominate the match 44-14.

2nd round saw West going against the North. Great start for the West zone team winning the match 59-10. Great effort to the North side for putting up a good fight in the 2nd half of both their matches.

Final round - We had the South&East Zone and the West Zone gunning for Top spot! It was anyone's game with a score less 1st half. And in the 2nd half, South&East scored the first Try of the game, but just after 5min, West came back with a Try, score stands at 7-7. West continued their forward momentum and score their 2nd Try, but again the opposite replied back with their 2nd Try as well to tie the scores again at 12 all. With few minutes to go, a mistake from the South&East side provided a Penalty kick opportunity, and the West took that opportunity, scored stands 15-12. With just the final min to go, again mistake by the South&East saw West putting in their 3rd and final Try plus a successful conversion. Full time score West 22 - 12 South.

SRU-SCNRA U15 Zonal 15 A Side Tournament 2015


As part of our initiative to create more competitive rugby environment for students in Secondary Schools; Singapore Rugby Union and Standard Chartered National Rugby Academy re-organizing the SRU-SCNRA Under 15 - 15 a side Zonal Tournament 2015. 

In the past, the tournament grouped schools in four zonal teams to play against one another:
Team North Zone - Schools from North
Team South Zone - Schools from South
Team East Zone - Schools from East
Team West Zone - Schools from West

The tournament was a success then, and this year, we will be bringing back the SRU-SCNRA Zonal(s) Tournament in mid-June (Under 15, Born in 2000) in early-Sept (Under 14, Born in 2001).

This year we have made amendments in the grouping of the zonal teams for both the SRU-SCNRA Zonal(s) Tournament to the following below:

Results of the SRU-SCNRA U18 Inter-Tertiary 15 A Side Tournament 2015


1st Round - It was a close encounter for both matches with both Singapore Schools Teams winning their opening matches against Combined ITE and Combined Polytechnic Barbarians. In the 1st match, Singapore Schools B looked to be more dominant side throughout the game, leading the half 5-0, and finished off the game 16-5. In the 2nd match, it was anyone's game with both Singapore Schools A and Combined Polytechnic Barbarians Team putting constant pressure to each other. Heading into the 1st half 7-8 to Singapore Schools A with the lead. In the 2nd half, both teams added in a converted try each, but with Singapore Schools putting in an extra penalty kick to extend the lead 25-21. In the final minutes of the game, flyhalf Joshua Goh (ACS I) from Singapore Schools A attempted a drop goal 25m out and succeeded, extending the lead to 7 points difference, and with the drop goal successful, the full time score stood at 28-21, in favour of Singapore Schools A.

2nd Round - Combined Polytechnic Barbarians got their first win today, where they played against Singapore Schools 'B'. Having lost to these Singapore School's side last year, this year the Poly Barbars came back with a vice versa results on the opposition, putting in 4 tries in the first half and another 4 in the 2nd half, final score Combined Polytechnic Barbarians 48-7 Singapore Schools 'B'. In the other match, Singapore Schools 'A' continues their winning streak, showing why they were the past year's winners, winning their match against the Combined ITE 55-0.

Final Round - Singapore Schools 'A' continued their unbeaten record winning their last match of the tournament against Singapore Schools 'B' 24-8, and crowded Winners of the tournament, 2 years straight! Well done to the players and management team! Having gotten 4th in last year's tournament, the Combined Polytechnic Barbarians took 2nd placing in this years tournament after defeating Combined ITE today.

Regardless of results, well done to all teams for displaying great teamwork, character and fighting spirit! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Standard Chartered Bank for their continous support to youth rugby in Singapore.
